Well, I found in my cellar some half bottles of the 1990 Ridge Geyserville. It is an amazing wine, but one I fear is getting to that point where you really want to appreciate it sooner, rather than later. Is it over the hill? Nope. Is it, at age 12 1/2 still improving? I doubt it. It's a mature wine that is starting to throw sediment. It is still rich and full of fruit but the acidity has dropped out, so have the tannins. It is still loaded with brambly fruit, some black tar and spice--lots of berries and plums.

I really like it and candidly and feel that it has aged very nicely.

Cheers,
