The 1994 La Copa Santa a wine made from a blend of ancient vines that supply Grenache, Syrah and Mourvedre and hail from vineyards La Mejanelle from Pic Saint Loup and Saint Christol, which is in the hills of the Cervennes. Produced by Pierre Clavel, this is his top wine and since the 1993 vintage, has always seemed to be one of the best wines to come from the Languedoc Rousillion.

The wine has developed to a point where the tannins are so mellow that they are almost not there. The color remains youthful, even at age 10, with a dark purple color and not even a hint of amber around the rim. The deep fruit flavors of cherries, berries, black plums, chocolate and a hint of herbs de provence like "La Garrigue" remains. The wine has a dazzling finish that seems to last almost 30 seconds and shows that aging this wine is clearly worthwhile.
